Subject: Pollution in Roodeplaat Dam!!!
I have received a fax (unfortunately I do not know from whom), with the Gauteng Provincial Government’s stamp on it, stating the following:
Please take note that with immediate effect no jetski’s. skiing or tubes are allowed, due to the quality of the water which is injurious to your health. Avoid any contact with water as far as possible until further notice.
I was at the dam 2 weeks ago and the fishing was very, very poor – we even battled to catch canary kurper! The water was turbid and stank. I’ll try to find out what’s going on, but if somebody can help, please contact me.
