FOW Newsletter December 2006
Dear Fellow anglers,
The draft regulations for the recreational use of water are up on the site awaiting public comment. Comments have to be in by the 28th of February 2007.
If these become law it will alter your angling and water sport activities considerably.
It is in your interests to study the documentation and submit your comments.
The fishing owl team find it rather strange that the Government is coming out with regulations concerning water when they cannot even implement the Water Act.
Our scarce water resources are under threat due to the total incompetence of the powers at be.
IN FACT MOST FRESHWATER DAMS, RIVERS,ESTUARIES AND EVEN THE SALTWATER COULD BE POTENTISLLY DANGEROUS TO THE HEALTH OF ANYBODY WHO COMES INTO CONTACT WITH THE WATER.
The Regulations for comment are on the site in PDF form
Also to implement an act for the use of water resources for recreational purposes is very strange when the authorities do not even know who and how many people use the facility.
They do not even have a clue as to the sustainable economic contribution of recreational activities makes to the country. It is like having a wedding organising everything and then not sending out the invites.
From the team at Fishingowl we wish you all a safe and happy festive season and would like to thank you and all our contributors.
